On these high-level aspects, it will be complementary to
the high-level aspects of the "communication" topic, but
this latter will focus more on technical aspects, while
this topic should focus on "contents" aspects ; and of
course strong links with the "education" topic.

ibiblio
What is ibiblio?
ibiblio is a diverse and expansive collection of information on the Internet,
created and maintained by the public, for the public. It is the ultimate
collection of freely available information, the future of Internet librarianship,
and a collaboration between the former MetaLab.unc.edu
(formerly known as SunSITE.unc.edu) and the Center for Public Domain.

Open Source Metadata Framework
What is the Open Source Metadata Framework?
The OMF aims to collect data about Open Source documentation, or metadata,
that will be used to describe the documentation. The idea is that the OMF will
act as a sophisticated card catalog type of system for the numerous Open
Source documentation projects that exist. The OMF offers a number of
advantages over standard card catalog type systems, however. Chief among
these is the fact that the OMF has been designed from the ground up to be
completely open, standards based, and sharable. We will accomplish this by
using pre-defined standards (XML and the Dublin Core description for
metadata) and allowing all metadata generated to be accessed by anyone that
wants it. Because the metadata itself is to be stored in XML files, anyone

- Advantages of single sourcing in documentation using XML DocBook
a particular project review: MandakeSecurity project and its
documentaion: online help, reference manual, user guide.
Non-limitative list, comments and suggestions appreciated.
Python Documentation
- Benoit Lacherez will be there to do some presentation
around the project of translation of the Python documentation., and intend
to organize 'round-tables' about issues of translation: tools, method...
- Nicolas Chauvat will talk about his software Narval
and especially its use in a translation project.
- Olivier Berger proposes himself or another IDEALX staff member to make a
presentation...
He would also be interested in hearing about efforts in finding the next
standard of O.S. documentation (XML after SGML-LinuxDoc, etc.)
Anybody from the Gnome Documentation project and KDE's equivalent ?
Although I use and produce documentation alot, I have no precise view on
the structure of all theses projects organizing documentation efforts in
the big OpenSource groups, and their proposed tools / standards... so
some update would be really welcome at the LSM.
LinuxFocus
- Guido Socher, the editor in chief of the magazine, will present the LinuxFocus project
as a part of the "education" public conference.
- Egon Willighagen will explain the XML database
systeme used to manage multilingual articles at LinuxFocus.org.
- Workshop dedicated to the inner functionning of the various national
teams making LinuxFocus.
- Charles Vidal's presentation about his self sufficient, multi OS
documentation cdrom based on a Tcl/Tk http local server. (Not specific
to LinuxFocus).
